Senior Scientist, KemSENSE Albany, NY area  July 2015 - April 2017

    Albany Medical College, Biomedical Acceleration & Commercialization Center, Dec 2016 - April 2017

As part of KemSENSE group moved to AMC for commercialization of RFID product, continued development and testing of medical devices.  This included all aspects of design and managing labs, with focus on SOPs in safety, training and good practices. 

  • Prior to setting up new lab, developed organized and wrote Chemical Hygiene Plan & Lab Specific Safety Plan; followed various OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910.). training in DOT Hazmat transportation (49 CFR 172.), EHS safe operating procedures and waste disposal - 700 page document total

  • Trained for responsible conduct biomedical research; to work in clinical trials, human subjects IRB preparation

    General Electric – Global Research Center, Niskayuna NY, Aug 2015 – Dec 2016

As part of KemSENSE (venture capital group at GE) recruited to own and develop chemistry for coating of RFID tags as sensors, and also responsible for build out analytical labs at GE-Global research Center.

  • ClO2 monitoring for disinfection processes from 0-300ppm range.  Developed new nontoxic chemistry to coat various RFID tags for detecting presence of various gases and volatile organic components.

  • Developed new biodegradable formulation for detecting ammonia vapors at parts-per-trillion.  Utilized guar gum and gold nanoparticles to achieve sensitive detection, reversible. required stringent multi-variable control

  • Developed new chemical coated tags for explosive detection.  Utilized Fenton type reaction to develop formulation based on FeCl2 to detect hydrogen peroxide and acetone degradation products of TATP

  • Developed new formulations for conductive inks and glues used to printout electronics, batteries and super capacitors. utilized 325mesh graphite, water, acrylic paint and polymers to print circuit/components on chuck
